Meghan Markle’s New Years Resolutions Have Been Revealed

As 2017 comes to a close, it’s that time when we all start thinking about making our new year’s resolutions. Maybe you’d like to eat healthier, or finally quit smoking. Perhaps you’re just looking to be a little kinder to others.

Whatever your resolutions, surely they couldn’t be as significant as Meghan Markle’s this year. After all, the former Suits actress is about to marry into the Royal Family and has a lot of homework to do before becoming a Royal herself. Recently Meghan spent the holidays with her fiancé and his family. To get a glimpse of the couple attending the Royal Christmas Service, check out the video below:

Her wedding to Prince Harry is in just five short months, so what kind of personal improvements is the soon-to-be Princess looking to make? Surprisingly, Meghan’s resolutions are not that much different than anyone else’s. In fact, according to the Telegraph, she recently posted on her now-defunct blog that she makes the exact same resolutions every year! Meghan revealed that her resolutions include cutting down on cursing and trying to stop biting her nails. She also wants to try and become more lady-like, perhaps a good idea to impress her soon-to-be Royal in-laws, and to relearn French. Before her blog, called The Tig, was taken down, Meghan wrote the following in 2016:

“Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French. These make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks.”

“And when it comes to the biting of the nails – well, it still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit. My nails will be fine, and if I toss out a four letter word once in a blue moon, well frankly I think it adds character.”

The blog post, which was rather lengthy, also revealed that Meghan had hopes of running a marathon, wanted to learn to go with the flow more, and to leave room in her life for magic. Well, it certainly seems like she got her magic considering that 2016 was the year she met her future husband, Prince Harry! Her high profile relationship with the Prince forced Meghan to shut down her blog earlier this year, but since she claims to make the same resolutions year after year, we can only assume that they still stand for 2018. Although I’m willing to bet she’s got a few more resolutions on that list now! Allegedly Meghan has to learn all of the Royal customs and protocol before her wedding next year. Perhaps relearning French will go on the back burner in favor of knowing how to greet higher ranking family members. Meghan also wrote in 2016 that she wanted to be “open to change”. I think it’s safe to say that 2018 is certainly gearing up to provide her with plenty of changes! We look forward to seeing more of Meghan in the new year and discovering how she’ll adjust to her new Royal lifestyle. All the best to her and Prince Harry in 2018.
